How Climate Change Could Impact The World's Beer Supply

A new report says global warming could lead to less beer consumption

A new report from the United Nations suggests the worst-possible scenario for beer-loving Belgians, ale-loving Americans, stout-loving Swiss, and IPA-loving Indians alike.

Turns out, the UN report claims the world is not ready to deal with climate change. In turn, a report from Nature Plants, suggests that global warming will cause a sharp decline in the world's supply of barley -- the key ingredient in beer!

Barley,as you may or may not know, does not do well in heat. And as the planet's temperatures rise, this means that less barley will be available. And all that means that if the world doesn't address climate change soon, global beer consumption could drop 16%. Some estimate say beer consumption could drop by 20% in the U.S. as beer prices rise.
